La Jolla is a smart seaside area, known for its rugged coastline. Trails wind past pine trees and sandstone canyons in Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, while the 2 courses at world-renowned Torrey Pines Golf Course sit atop sea cliffs.

Pacific Beach is a relaxed neighborhood by the beach, popular with sunbathers and surfers. Trendy hotel bars and casual cafes line the boardwalk, while Mission Boulevard and the surrounding streets are dotted with women’s clothing boutiques, yoga studios and casual drinking spots that draw a young, bar-hopping crowd.

Slotted between the Pacific Ocean and Mission Bay, Mission Beach is alive with activity. Mission Beach is a laid-back neighborhood whose namesake sands attract surfers, sunbathers and volleyball players. A paved path curls around Mission Bay, a popular spot for water sports.

Point Loma is a peninsula over looking the bay or beach with parks, trails, tide pools and exhibits on California history as well as Sunset Cliffs Natural Park with buzzy restaurants, shops, seafood eateries and popular live music hosted at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay.

On the hills just west of Mission Bay, is the neighborhood of Bay Park. Largely developed in the 1950s, this neighborhood is centrally located to enjoy the best of San Diego. Many of the homes have beautiful sunset views over Mission Bay to the Pacific Ocean.

The Ocean Beach Community is bounded on the north by the San Diego River, on the west by the Pacific Ocean, on the east by Froude Street and West Point Loma Boulevard, and on the south by Adair Street.
